The Congregation of St. Luke’s
The congregation of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is made up of people of varied backgrounds, political affiliations, interests and talents. What brings us together is our firm belief in being a Christian community and growing together in God’s love. Take a few moments to meet some members of our congregation...

Jim and Sandy came to St. Luke’s in the late eighties. Their children were first introduced to St. Luke’s by the Ebberts family (other members of the congregation). Although Sandy had been raised Lutheran, she came to see what her children were being introduced to. Jim followed at first by attending a Christmas program. Over the years, Sandy has served as a Sunday school teacher and currently as the Sunday School Director. She is also a faithful member of the Labyrinth Guild. Jim has served on the vestry, and in charge of the St. Luke’s building and grounds -- helping to keep the church and its grounds in good order seems to be his mission. Jim and Sandy say, “We have seen St. Luke’s go through many stages during this time. We have been here many years, but the last few years have been some of the most blessed of our time at St. Luke’s. The family of St. Luke’s seems strong, more open and loving.”

Josh was baptized at St. Luke’s in 2004. He attends Sunday School at St. Luke’s, and currently serves as an acolyte for the church. He is very proud to be an acolyte, and enjoys serving the church in that capacity. Josh also attends Diocesan youth events regularly, and is interested in becoming more active at St. Luke’s.

Raynette and Ted have been at St. Luke’s since 1984. Ted had been an Episcopalian since he was little, but Raynette came to be an Episcopalian while in college. Raynette has served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a greeter, and has served on the vestry as Junior Warden. Ted has been a vestry member, lay preacher, and has been involved with stewardship at St. Luke’s. Both Ted and Raynette are members of the Shared Joy BRingers Community Handbell Choir, which rehearses at St. Luke’s. Regarding that experience, they say “Our prayer is for us to continue in our bell ringing ministry as part of reaching out to all who can hear the voice of God through music. Our ministry includes seeking the lost and hopeless to share the Good News that there is saving grace and eternal hope.”
